Qualifications

Married couples may adopt at any age, and singles may adopt at age 25 and up. There is no limit on the number of children in the home.

The Children

Children available are newborns and toddlers. The children are kept in a private foster care. Healthy children as well as those with medical needs may be adopted. A medical examination, including testing for HIV, Hep- B, and VDRL, is completed for every child. Poverty and war are the main reasons behind the many children who cannot be raised by their biological families. Many children lost their parents in the war, or were abandoned during the fighting, and now need loving homes.

Program Description

The wait for a referral for an infant can be as little as 1 week. Once referral of a child is accepted, the dossier is submitted to court. Completion of the adoption process usually takes 4 to 6 months. The family does not travel until the adoption is finalized.

After your child has received a final adoption decree from Aztlan and an Embassy appointment has been made to apply for your child’s visa, you may then travel to pick up your child or have the child escorted home.
